Christ Church of CT at a Glance

The Christ Church of Connecticut, formerly known as the Christ Church of South India Connecticut, is a Christian congregation affiliated to the Church of South India. The Church of South India, also known as C.S.I Church, was formed in 1947 in India by union of four different Christian church traditions namely Anglican, United Church in Christ (Congregational), Presbyterian and Methodist. We are a parish (congregation) of the C.S.I. denomination formed and incorporated in the state of Connecticut in May 1992 under the name "Christ Church of South India".

The parish was formed under the leadership of senior vicar (retired) Rev. John J Williams. He served the congregation with utmost dedication for over 30 years from the time of formation of the parish. He was assisted by Rev. Philip Yohannan as associate vicar for a period of over a decade till early 2021. Rev. Joby Joy served the congregation from early 2021 till late 2022. Rev. John William retired from his role as Vicar-in-charge in 2022. He continues to participate in worship services and his spiritual guidance enriches the congregation. Rev. Thomas Cheriyan has taken the position of Vicar-in-charge of the parish since October 2022. We conduct worship services every Sunday and on other special Christian occasions in accordance with the liturgy of the C.S.I denomination.

From 1993 to 2016 we conducted worship services at the facilities we were renting from The Church of the Round Hill, Greenwich, CT. In 2016 we moved to our own facility at 36A Padanaram Rd, CT 06811 where we continue regular worship services.

Our worship services are recorded and posted to our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ChristChurchOfSouthIndia/videos. The parish currently has about 100 members including children.
